Integrative Therapy

An integrative therapist believes there isn’t just one therapeutic approach that can help you in all situations. Instead, we consider you as an individual and your circumstances and use elements of different approaches to help you explore and cope with your problems.

Every client who walks through the door is different. What works for one person might not work for another. As an integrative therapist, I will choose the right approach for you. I generally use a bit of everything. It’s all-round support and makes therapy unique for you.

The integrative approach may include elements of person-centred therapy, CBT and psychodynamic therapy, explanations of which can also be found here.

Integrative therapy can help with a range of short and long-term issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, addictions, bereavement and low self-esteem, and can have many benefits because it’s so personalised and such well-rounded support. Integrative therapy can help you with emotional wellbeing and mental health, enabling you to live life to your full potential.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many Integrative Therapy sessions will I need?

The number of Integrative Therapy sessions needed varies significantly based on individual circumstances but generally ranges from a few to potentially several months or even longer. Short-term issues may be resolved in 6-12 sessions, while longer-term or more complex issues may require 16-30 or more. The specific number is best determined through a consultation with a therapist, who can assess your needs and develop a tailored treatment plan.

Is Integrative Therapy the right form of therapy for me?

Integrative therapy might be a good fit if you're looking for a flexible and personalized approach to therapy that combines different techniques to address your specific needs and concerns. It can be beneficial for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, and low self-esteem. However, it's important to consider that integrative therapy requires a commitment to the process and may not be suitable for those seeking a quick fix.

What are the core components of Integrative Therapy?

Unlike some single-school approaches, integrative therapy is not restricted to a particular methodology or school of thought. Instead, therapists can draw on different techniques as they are needed. The goal of this is to improve the efficacy and efficiency of treatment and adapt it to the specific needs of the individual.

What is Integrative Therapy used to treat?

Integrative therapy is a versatile approach that can be used to address a wide range of mental health concerns and personal challenges. It is particularly effective for conditions like anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, addictions, and low self-esteem. Additionally, it can be helpful for individuals experiencing grief, sleep disturbances, or those seeking to improve their overall well-being
